This specimen was a little bit of a brain teaser! 
It didn't look very 'Calcite-y' on first glance but on closer inspection and a UV test this specimen really came out to play! 
This calcite is UV reactive and glows a bright pink.

  • Pearly, opaque, trigonal pastel pink Manganoan Calcite.
  • Snow white spherical rosettes and intergrown rhombs of Calcite. 
  • The calcite has developed to create stalactite like formations of Calcite & Goethite.
  • Matte, opaque, dark grey to black Goethite can be seen on the specimen too.
  • Calcite fluoresces an intense pink when exposed to UV light.
