This piece has so much going on! This is a Fairy Quartz Cluster features a secondary generation of smaller prismatic crystals growing over the main crystals. This specimen also has a dream coat, which consists iron staining, giving it a beautiful reddish-brown hue.

Geological Terminology:
  • A sub-opaque, vitreous and beautiful Fairy Quartz Finger from South Africa.
  • Consists of 2 generations of crystals growth : primary crystals and secondary smaller crystals growing on the main ones.
  • The colors vary from white to reddish brown.
  •  Iron staining, also known as dream coat can be seen on the piece, giving it its reddish-brown color.
  • One of the main crystals has contact damage to it.
  • The apex of one of the primary crystals has a multi-terminated apex.
