A mostly single yellow-brown isometric Grandite Garnet, also referred to as Mali Garnet is a mixture of the Grossular and Andradite species. It is one of the rarest varieties in the Garnet group. The Republic of Mali is the only known source of this beautiful gem, where it was discovered in 1994.
Geological Terminology:
- A lustrous yellow-brown and slight yellow-green Grandite Garnet with a few other crystals protrusions on it and its sides.
- This piece is opaque and has interesting cavernous formations on the side-grown crystal and on the back of it.
- The Garnet also has double terminations.
