A specimen of Intense, saturated Steel-grey Hausmannite with minor colorless Calcite on the crystal faces.
This specific specimen reminds me something out of space! The Hausmannite crystal surface is insanely detailed with smaller triangles appearing on the main crystal faces.

The Geological Approach: 
  • Sub-metallic to Metallic, opaque, steel-grey, tetragonal crystal bodies.
  • Sub-metallic, opaque, dark grey to black, elongated crystals of Gaudefroyite.
  • Micro, colorless, trigonal Ettringite crystals have developed with the Gaudefroyite and Hausmannite.
  • Red, opaque, micro Andradite Garnet has developed on the specimen
