This specimen of Tarnowitzite is from an Old Collection which was collected between the 1980's to early 2000's.
- Traditionally called 'tarnowitzite', much 'tarnowitzite' has been identified as a mixture of aragonite and cerussite, but lead-bearing aragonite with up to 3% PbCO3 may be homogeneous.
- Variety of Aragonite.
- Pearly, opaque, intergrown, subtle yellow to white crystals.
- Clear, intergrown, pearly rhombohedral Calcite crystals have developed on the matrix.
- Minor green Duftite can be seen on the perimeter of the specimen too.
- Scattered chips and contact damage present.
