Piedra Rayo translates to “Lightning Stone '' and is believed to have been the “Cintamani Stone” from sanskrit teachings and literature.
It was estimated that these stones are around 30 million years old

Geological Terminology:
  • Colombianite, also known as Piedra Rayo,Cali Glass.
  • This is a family of remarkably similar natural obsidians, including: Saffordites (aka” Arizonaites”), Colombianites, Healdsburgites, and Philippine Amerikanites, which are termed “pseudotektites”
  • Matte, translucent, round shaped Colombianite.
  • Dark green to brown colour.
  • Emits a light brown colour when back light.
  • Small crevices and 'craters' on the surface of the Colombianite.
